Your Niche Is Already In Your Life
One of the very first projects that began to develop an income for me was setting up blogs and content sites for people who did not have the technical experience to do it for themselves. For some time before this, I had tried different projects and ways of creating an income from within the web industry. I would learn new technologies, research opportunities and get persuaded to try the latest marketing fad. This whole time I was writing content for 2 or 3 blogs of my own and recording 2 podcasts per week – just ‘for the fun of it’. I was searching for a niche to build upon, when the whole time I was already doing it.
If you are searching for that niche, or opportunity, then consider these 3 keys:
1. What are you passionate about?
There is a single great advantage about finding a niche you are passionate about – you will enjoy doing it even if it takes time for the rewards to appear. What do you enjoy doing?
2. What are you already doing?
I was already creating content online because I enjoyed doing it. I certainly enjoyed it even more when people started paying me to do it for them. So many ‘online success’ stories have started because someone realized that something they were already doing could create them income.
3. What do others find interesting that you do?
When I first started podcasting I would often find myself being asked questions about it by friends, and even being contacted online by listeners. It wasn’t long before these conversations turned into consultations and an invoice was attached.
If you are seeking that opportunity, then evaluate your life with those keys, and particularlynumber 3. Today is the digital age where information comes with a price.
