25/09/19 2 John 1:6

Love means doing what God has commanded us, and he has commanded us to love one another, just as you heard from the beginning.

As I sit here at my iPad no one is commanding me to breathe. My body is telling me I am hungry but I do not need to await a command to sought out some breakfast for myself. My heart is beating and my lungs are working without any audible command directing them.

Yet, God has commanded us to love. Why? Because it doesn’t always come natural to us. Loving one another is not as easy as just taking a breath. It requires us to be deliberate, and to even seek out opportunities to love thy neighbour.
